YOU'RE HIRED SAY HELENSBURGH TOYOTA TO APPRENTICES

Despite a difficult economic backdrop, Helensburgh Toyota are delighted to be investing in the future with three new apprentices having joined the company in the past few month.

Euan Turner (19) who started his apprenticeship with Helensburgh Honda and Chris Kinniburgh (21) are working under the Scottish Motor Trade Association to become Vehicle Techncian...s. Rhona Landless (19) who joined the company after a college work experience is serving her first year apprenticeship to become a Body and Paint Technicioan, working in the Accident Repair Centre. James Frize(20) recently completed his apprenticeship and has taken up a permanent post as a Vehicle Technician. The local company have held the Toyota franchise for 34 years and operate from their traditional John Street base and their newly acquired site on the former Honda franchise.

Commenting on the expansion of the 'grow your own' policy, company Director, Gary Mulvaney said:

"There can be so much doom and gloom about the economy and bad press about our young people, that we forget about the good news and successes. As a small local company, we are delighted to offer apprenticeships to three very talented people and invest in the future. It is good to see that in Rhona's case a good work experience placement from college gave her the chance to show what she could do that ultimately led to the offer of an apprenticeship.

"In a similar vein, James joined us four years ago,working as a Saturday boy, sweeping and tidying the workshop and from that he became an apprentice, got qualified and secured a permanent job. We are delighted he has qualified and very pleased to support his further studies with day release.

"All four are a credit to the company and to themselves."
